The CIA dosed its own citizens with acid. On purpose.
Between 1953 and 1973, the CIA ran a program of human experimentation using LSD, hypnosis, and other methods to research mind control, often on subjects who had not given informed consent. Surviving documents were declassified after a 1975 Senate investigation.
